We are looking for a Senior Technical Content PM who sits at the intersection of technical content development and modern software engineering. This role is ideal for someone who has deep roots in content development-writing, publishing, and maintaining developer documentation-and who also brings hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with the emerging class of agentic AI coding tools.

The ideal candidate will help our team plan and execute content programs that help the Docs team and our partners learn, adopt, and succeed with our agent skills, automation, and other AI-enabled solutions. You'll work closely with Transformation Team members while leveraging AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows to accelerate content delivery and innovation.

Someone with hands-on experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and GitHub Copilot would be especially well-suited for this role, as these technologies are central to the automation, tooling, and AI-driven content workflows the team is building.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Program Management

* Work with Transformation Team members to plan, scope, and manage content programs end-to-end-from ideation and authoring through review, user acceptance testing, publication, and ongoing maintenance.

* Help facilitate UATs, track feedback from participants, and draft findings to inform the team's next steps.

* Help monitor agent skills adoption and usage, and present the data to the team to inform improvements or prioritize investments.

* Help track user feedback and success metrics for documentation (engagement, satisfaction, time-to-resolution, content freshness) and present findings to identify opportunities for improvement.

* Help coordinate cross-functional workstreams across content development, engineering, product management, and design.

Content Development & Publishing

* Author, edit, and review high-quality technical content including team wiki articles, UAT plans, and how-to guides.

* Manage content in docs-as-code workflows: authoring in Markdown, collaborating via GitHub pull requests and issues, and publishing through CI/CD pipelines.

* Maintain and improve existing documentation by monitoring user feedback, analytics, and issue backlogs; triage and resolve content bugs.

* Uphold content quality standards including voice, tone, accessibility, and information architecture best practices.

* Support and review doc contributions to the team wiki.

Tooling, Automation & Agentic AI

* Leverage tools such as Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Git, Markdown linters, and static-site publishing systems as part of the content creation workflow.

* Apply software engineering practices-branching strategies, code review, CI/CD, automated testing/validation-to content development processes.

* Use and help shape workflows involving agentic AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI Codex CLI, or similar terminal-based coding harnesses) to accelerate content creation, automate repetitive tasks, and prototype tooling improvements.

* Help identify opportunities to integrate AI-assisted authoring, content generation, and quality assurance into the content lifecycle-including solutions built on Azure and Azure AI Foundry.

* Contribute to or build lightweight scripts, extensions, or automation (in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages) that improve team productivity.

Collaboration

* Partner with Transformation Team members to ensure agent skill and team wiki documentation is accurate and timely.

* Support Transformation Team members with reviews, communication, and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, English, Information Science, or a related field-OR equivalent practical experience.

* 4+ years of experience in technical content development, technical writing, or content program management for software or cloud products.

* 2+ years of experience with docs-as-code tools and workflows: Markdown, Git/GitHub, pull request-based collaboration, and CI/CD publishing pipelines.

* Demonstrated experience using Visual Studio Code (or comparable code editors) as a primary authoring environment.

* Familiarity with Microsoft Learn (learn.microsoft.com), docs.microsoft.com, or similar large-scale documentation platforms.

* Experience with content management at scale: information architecture, metadata/taxonomy, localization, and content reuse strategies.

* Solid understanding of software development concepts (version control, APIs, SDKs, command-line tools, scripting).

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical topics for developer audiences.

* Strong program/project management skills: ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and deliver on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

* Software engineering background: prior experience as a software developer, SDE, or in a role that involved writing production code (any language).

* Hands-on experience with agentic AI coding tools such as:

o GitHub Copilot / GitHub Copilot CLI / Copilot in the terminal and IDE

o OpenAI Codex CLI

o Other AI-assisted coding harnesses or AI pair-programming tools

* Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript-used for building automation, content tooling, and integrating AI-driven workflows.

* Experience with Azure cloud services, including deploying and managing solutions on the Azure platform.

* Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry (or similar AI/ML platforms) for building, evaluating, and deploying AI models and agents that support content workflows.

* Experience building or contributing to developer tools, CLI utilities, VS Code extensions, or content automation scripts.

* Background in open-source community engagement: reviewing external pull requests, managing contributor guidelines, and fostering healthy contributor ecosystems.

* Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Kusto/KQL, Power BI) to measure content effectiveness.

* Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive content design.

What Makes This Role Unique

This isn't a traditional content or PM role.

We're looking for someone who can bridge two worlds:

1. The content world - You understand the full content lifecycle: planning, authoring in Markdown, reviewing via GitHub PRs, publishing through automated pipelines, and maintaining docs based on data and feedback. You know what makes great developer documentation.

2. The engineering world - You're comfortable in a terminal. You've written code in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, shipped software, or at minimum can hold your own in a codebase. You've worked with cloud services. You've experimented with (or are eager to master) the new generation of agentic AI tools and you see how these tools can transform content workflows, not just code workflows.

If you get excited about being part of a team that's using an AI coding agent to automate content validation, generate draft documentation from source code, or build a custom tool that improves your team's publishing pipeline-this role is for you.
