*Description*
The Desktop Break/Fix & Audio Visual Support Technician is responsible for providing hands-on technical support for end-user computing devices and audiovisual systems. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and resolving desktop, laptop, peripheral, and AV-related issues while delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Desktop & End-User Support *Provide on-site and remote break/fix support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals *Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues related to Windows and/or macOS environments *Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and hardware components *Image, deploy, and decommission end-user devices following company standards *Support user accounts, passwords, and access via Active Directory, Azure AD, or similar systems *Document incidents, resolutions, and asset updates in the IT ticketing system *Escalate complex issues to appropriate Tier 2/3 teams as required Audio Visual (AV) Support *Set up, test, and support conference room and classroom AV equipment (projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras) *Provide live meeting support for in-room and hybrid meetings (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.) *Troubleshoot AV connectivity issues, including HDMI, USB, wireless display, and conferencing systems *Perform routine maintenance and equipment checks on AV systems *Coordinate with vendors for AV repairs, upgrades, and installations Customer Service & Operations *Deliver professional, courteous, and timely support to end users and executives *Follow IT service management (ITSM) processes and SLAs *Maintain accurate asset inventory and technical documentation *Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as needed Required Qualifications *2+ years of experience in desktop support, help desk, or IT support roles *Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and/or macOS troubleshooting *Hands-on experience with desktop/laptop hardware repair and peripheral support *Working knowledge of AV equipment and conferencing technologies *Familiarity with ticketing systems (Ivanti, ServiceNow, Jira, etc.) *Strong communication and customer service skills *Ability to lift and move AV or IT equipment (up to standard workplace limits) Preferred Qualifications *Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) *Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN) *Experience supporting executive or VIP users Work Environment *On-site support required with occasional remote troubleshooting *May include conference rooms, offices, and data/IT closets *Some after-hours or event-based support may be required *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Skills: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, good written communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to disassemble and reassemble small precision instruments. Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Education: Typically requires a high school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Norwood, MA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
