As an Audiovisual Practice Leader in our Portland office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why We Need You:

In this role, you will be supporting project delivery through a range of design and coordination activities. Daily responsibilities include developing concepts, drawings, and specifications, as well as reviewing proposals, providing comments, and assisting with fee development. The position also involves close collaboration with MEPT and acoustics teams to interface with and support integrated design efforts across projects. Strategic responsibilities include development of internal talent, understanding market advancements, and advancing our instruments of service.

Expertise of our most successful Audiovisual Practice Leader:

    Company-wide audiovisual subject matter expert (AV-SME), providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Project work, including:
    • Project management of technology-led projects.
    • Manages design budgets, schedules, staffing, and QA/QC.
    • Responsibility for the overall AV design process for projects.
    • Identifying relevant project requirements/information required to establish conceptual plans and design criteria.
    • Defining and documents applicable technical information within a basis of design, including information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys and code research.
    • Coordinating and collaborating with project partners, developing engineering concepts and recommendations based on project requirements, and offering technically sound advice and innovative solutions.
    • Serving as the technical authority for client requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Develops and manages discipline specific work plans.
  • Supports AEI MEPT project managers through:
    • Education, training, and ongoing technical assistance.
    • Developing and refining proposal language and fees for audiovisual services on Engineering-led projects.
    • Acts as a design and consulting leader while supporting multidisciplinary project teams and as an alternate leader to the Project Engineer and/or Project Manager.
  • Stays current on emerging technologies and industry trends in audiovisual systems.
  • Assists with interviews and presentations to support business development efforts.
  • Leads the development and growth of the AV practice at a national level, including:
    • Centralizing and enhancing tools, standards, and instruments of service for AV design.
    • Mentoring staff for project and goals.
    • Maintaining ownership of specifications, documentation standards, and detail management.
    • Develops and refines template proposal language and establishes project benchmarks and cost budgets.
    • Mentors and develops technical staff through education and leadership.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $170,000 to $220,000
