THE POSITION

Are you enthusiastic about conservation, climate action, and safeguarding our natural resources? This is your opportunity to transform that enthusiasm into valuable experience. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is looking for a driven college student to join our team and assist with important Climate and Sustainability projects. You will collaborate with dedicated professionals, engage in real environmental initiatives, and gain practical knowledge about how public agencies foster positive change in Pennsylvania's natural environments. If you have an interest in public service, want to enhance your resume, and are eager to make a real difference, this internship is a perfect fit. Apply today and take the first step toward a fulfilling career in environmental stewardship and sustainability.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist the DCNR Climate and Sustainability team in promoting the agency's key sustainability goals, such as lowering its carbon footprint, enhancing energy efficiency, and sharing best practices with both the agency and the public. Your tasks will involve supporting the Forever Green initiative by collaborating with its leaders and team members, collecting information from staff and partners across the state, and monitoring new sustainability practices that align with DCNR's mission. You will also play a role in analyzing agency data, exploring potential solutions, and creating materials to showcase sustainability efforts. This includes developing educational content for events, producing materials for the intranet and social media, and aiding in outreach efforts both internally and externally. Through these activities, interns will gain practical experience in climate action, data analysis, and environmental communication within a statewide conservation agency.
