Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Data Entry Technician to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Data Entry Technician is a pivotal contributor to our operational efficiency, specializing in the accurate entry of diverse health-related data. This role not only ensures the smooth resolution of claims and mailroom duties but also actively fosters a positive team environment, emphasizing collaboration and effectiveness.

This position is on-site in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter diverse data, including paper claims, into health systems.
  • Manage daily faxes, sort mail, and assist in its processing.
  • Create and track tickets for efficient task completion.
  • Scan and input documents for special claims processing.
  • Resolve claims, conduct timely research, and provide guidance.
  • Act as a liaison between providers, agencies, and internal departments.
  • Determine and initiate recalculations or payment modifications.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including running errands to the Post Office using a company vehicle.
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance, handle gas filling, and ensure general upkeep.
  • Track documents, manage supplies inventory, and schedule machine maintenance.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail per contract requirements and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
  • Independently resolve suspended claims, ensuring compliance with policies and rules.
  • Review, process, and scan paper and electronic claims, following Wyoming Department of Health guidelines.
  • Review and follow up on claims and reimbursement, interpreting and applying policy and reimbursement rules.
  • Implement workflow processes and capabilities for work queues, with the ability to route workstreams.
  • Approve or deny transportation authorization requests, verify member transportation claims, and process approved claims.
  • Perform manual reviews on claims, documents, and attachments, releasing individual claims for providers on review.
  • Independently re-submit claims with applicable corrections, addressing discrepancies in charges, payments, adjustments, and demographic information.
  • Facilitate manual entry of claims into the system, reviewing paper claims and attachments and scanning them.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Available to work from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Mountain Time on all State business days, Monday through Friday (excluding Wyoming State holidays)
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Possess knowledge of claims review and analysis
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence
  • Navigate various computer claims and eligibility platforms simultaneously
  • Maintain a firm yet professional approach in interactions while performing tasks
  • Possess a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a helpful yet professional attitude
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with strong computer skills
  • Display exceptional organization and time management abilities, with an effective priority setting capability
  • Read, write, and follow directions accurately
  • Work independently without direct supervision, showing self-directed capabilities
  • Collaborate effectively with others, demonstrating strong teamwork skills
  • Display dependability in production tasks
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid processes

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor's degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
