Embedded in the Moody College of Communications, KUTX is one of five services operating under the independent, non-profit umbrella of KUT Public Media. Through independent news, community storytelling and transformative music, KUT Public Media brings people together, amplifies voices and provides critical information to the Central Texas community.

The Graphics Producer will be responsible for creating visually engaging content that supports the branding, marketing, and digital presence of KUTX, as well as parent organization KUT Public Media's various products. The role requires a creative thinker with a strong grasp of design principles and visual rhetoric, and experience using Adobe Creative Suite. Candidate will also be comfortable balancing multiple, concurrent tasks.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

The Graphics Producer will elevate our work via high-quality digital and print assets that reflect our brand spirit and engage target audiences. Reporting to the Assistant Program Director of KUTX, this position will work primarily on assets for KUTX Music but will also provide design support for KUT Public Media's revenue team and other KUT products (KUT News, Austin Signal, Texas Standard, and various podcasts from KUT & KUTX Studios.)

Responsibilities
  • Design branded assets for social media, marketing materials, membership and sponsorship assets, and event collateral.
  • Create and maintain templates for presentations, reports, and promotional content.
  • Work closely with internal "clients" to ensure cohesive visuals.
  • Adapt designs for different audiences, digital platforms and print formats.
  • Participate in staff meetings and organization events for team building and collaboration, as well as individual development.
  • 12-19 Hours weekly commitment, dependent on workload. Active communication style is essential.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to take creative direction and iterate on designs
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within an identified time frame
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proactive mindset
  • Available to work between the hours of 9 AM - 5PM CST, with flexibility allowed for school or part-time work schedules

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Listener to KUT and/or KUTX and familiarity with our brands, or demonstrated interest in public media, journalism, the music industry, and/or broadcasting
  • Basic knowledge of technical printing specs
  • Available to occasionally attend organization events outside of normal hours
  • Video editing or motion graphic skills would be supplementary but are not required
Salary Range

$21.00/hr
