The Resiliency Planning & Management (RPM) unit leads NYC DOT's efforts to prepare the city's transportation infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and waterfronts for the impacts of climate change. The candidate will support applied research and spatial analysis for high-priority resiliency projects, including coastal protection, stormwater mitigation, and extreme heat initiatives. Minimum Qualifications For Assignment Level I: Preferred Skills
- Enrollment in an academic program in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field. - Experience working with spatial data and mapping software, including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS. - Familiarity with climate hazards and mitigation strategies relevant to transportation and urban infrastructure. - Ability to prepare clear data visualizations and draft concise project narratives. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
