The Senior Connection Agreements Specialist is responsible for the preparation and administration of interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements between Ameren's operating companies, interconnected utilities, wholesale generators and large load customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new or modifying existing interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements relating to the interconnecting transmission and distribution lines of Ameren's operating companies.
  • Understanding the Planning, Design and Operations of the Ameren Transmission and Distribution system.
  • Understanding and implementing the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) generation interconnection process.
  • Maintaining active contact with customers connected to or planning connections with the Transmission and Distribution systems.
  • Participating in local and regional meetings representing Ameren on contractual issues relating to interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements.
  • Providing contractual technical support to various company personnel with regard to Ameren's interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business or other related field required.
  • Five or more years of relevant utility industry, technical writing, contract administration or other relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with writing contractual agreements preferred.
  • Experience with negotiating contractual agreements preferred.
  • Knowledge or background in the electric system is preferred.

Qualifications:

Lead Transmission Connection Specialist

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Seven or more years of relevant utility industry, technical writing, contract administration, project management or other relevant experience required.
  • Experience writing and negotiating contractual agreements strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge or background in the utility electric system is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required. Must possess effective writing, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Regulatory knowledge of state public service commissions, MISO and FERC is beneficial.

The Engineer- Connection Agreements position works a standard day shift in an office environment with occasional trips to the field or other office locations. The position includes potentially unusual working conditions, shifts, travel, overtime, callouts, etc.

Additional Information

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$88,500.00 - $172,200.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
