Job Summary
A full-time research assistant position is available in the Barker Laboratory at the Drexel University College of Medicine, in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. The Barker Lab combines traditional and cutting-edge techniques to investigate the neural circuits that mediate cognitive control and behavioral flexibility in animal models of neuropsychiatric illnesses, including addiction.
Applicants must be comfortable working with mice and have an interest in investigating the neurobiology of neuropsychiatric illnesses using in vivo electrophysiology, chemogenetics, and optogenetics.
Desired skills include experience handling mice. Preference for candidates with experience in MATLAB or R. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Bachelor's degree required. No additional work experience necessary.
This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Applicant is expected to work with as a team to perform behavioral experiments in collaboration with lab members and Dr. Barker.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional Information
This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade G Compensation for this grade ranges from $15.58 to $23.37per hour]. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
