Your Opportunity As a Sales Team member, your primary responsibility would be introducing and placing new products with customers, executing organizational initiatives, and driving sales on key items with strategic customers for long-term growth. Whether it is bacon, ham, fresh pork or another product category you will work directly with the customers and cross-functional with everyone from Business Management to our Plant Operations to deliver the service and products to our customers and consumers. The Director, Corporate Accounts is responsible for the overall strategic direction to grow the business with PFG and IMAand National Brands in both the packaged and fresh meats categories. This role is responsible for achieving volume and gross margin goals and objectives and must work collaboratively in a complex matrix organization with Divisional Sales Directors, Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, and Foodservice Brokers in support of these goals/objectives. This position will focus on sales and marketing and have overall responsibility for results for all aspects and communication of the business -- including but not limited to category management, innovation, business development, logistics, forecasting and finance. Responsibilities
Understands PFG and IMA Corporate initiatives and implementation within the Smithfield Foods organization. Provides strategic direction to the Smithfield Foods Foodservice Sales organization embracing the 'One Smithfield' direction for both packaged and fresh businesses. This strategic direction will focus on aligning Smithfield Foodservice objectives with PFG and IMA objectives at the corporate and local levels. Works closely with the Business Development team to achieve and exceed gross margin goals and expectations. Establishes category management protocols as it pertains to EB and company brands including identifying optimal mix solutions and performing SKU rationalization analysis. Coordinates new item development and authorization on Company capabilities that aligns itself with PFG and IMA corporate initiatives. Tracks results of marketing and local trade spending initiatives. Acts as liaison between Smithfield Foods National Accounts sales organizations andPFG and IMA National Accounts division to insure clear understanding of dialogue with operator/multi unit based businesses. Collaborates with all channels within the PFG and IMA sales organizations to grow all lines of business including but not limited to the Healthcare, Education, Business & Industry, Commercial Hospitality and C-Store segments. This role has responsibility for over 100 million pounds annually of packaged and fresh pork volume.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or related field and 10+ years of relevant sales or business management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required. 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required Knowledge of the US Foods organization and established working relationships with leadership at US Foods Corporate, Division and/or Regional levels strongly preferred. Must understand the dynamics of the Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Understanding of product cuttings - comfort and knowledge of product attributes. Meat (protein) sales experience, strongly preferred. Demonstrated sales planning, forecasting and sales execution experience required. Knowledge and experience with Apple software, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. SAP experience, preferred. Ability to take unstructured or under-developed accounts to achieve sales volume and margin growth; acts with a sense of urgency and passion, self-directed. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional support groups. Strong aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, decision-making and negotiation skills. Strong ability to work through complex, unstructured opportunities in a complicated matrix environment. May travel up to 75% of the time. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for the Corporate Accounts Team. Carries out managerial/supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
