Kratos is seeking a Jr. to Mid Software Developer to join an exciting team that will be shaping the future of a new satellite ground system. The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing a DevSecOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (C2) domain space.i

This candidate must be self-motivated, be a self-learner, and able to work well within a dynamic schedule. Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, ias well as communicate with customers and potential system operators. Candidate must be able to use modern, industry standard technologies to efficiently generate estimates and status of design efforts, including materials (such as presentation slides), for use internally as well as externally with customers.

• BA/BS Degree iniComputer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or engineering equivalent
• 2-5 years industry experience
• Experience with Java programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming) to include code reviews
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience designing and scoping solutions to complex engineering problems given a set of input parameters and goals
• Self-motivated and comfortable with working with multiple groups of developers, systems engineers, and testers
• Familiarity with using scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, and/or Power Shell
• Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian tools, Nexus, CM Pro, etc.)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with cloud-based (specifically AWS) and Kubernetes-enabled applications
• Familiarity with automated test scripting and tools (e.g, Bamboo, Behave)
• Experience with C/C++ programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming)
• Experience in UX/UI development (frontend), can be in Javascript, PHP or other
• Experience in satellite ground systems, specifically with real-time command and control (C2), ground communications, and antenna systems
• Experience with SecDevOps processes and tools (e.g., Sonarqube, Splunk, Syft, etc.)

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $106.000-$140,000
