About The Position

The Labor Relations Representative is responsible for providing leadership with advice and counsel regarding the interpretation of labor-management agreements, company policies, work practices, and supplementary agreements. This role also provides direct support in preparatory and actual contract negotiations processes. Position will be based in St. Louis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development of the business unit's labor strategy.
  • Assist in the implementation and interpretation of labor agreements and provide contract and/or labor relations training as needed.
  • Represent management during the second and third steps of the grievance process.
  • Interface with labor representatives to resolve issues.
  • Provide direct support to the business unit during contract and other labor negotiations.
  • Consult with leadership to address performance problems and/or manage disciplinary issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Labor Relations, Human Resources or other related discipline. Five or more years of related experience required (e.g., labor contract negotiation and administration, labor strategy, human resources, employee relations, supervising unionized employees). Field operations experience preferred.

An advanced degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources or related discipline may substitute for two years of required experience.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 9 years relevant Ameren field operations experience (e.g., gas/electric operations, power plant, nuclear) with a minimum of three years as an Ameren operations first line supervisor of union employees.

Sr. Labor Relations Representative:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Labor Relations, Human Resources or other related discipline. Seven or more years of related experience required (e.g., labor contract negotiation and administration, labor strategy, human resources, employee relations, supervising unionized employees). An advanced degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources or related discipline may substitute for two years of required experience.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 11 years relevant Ameren field operations experience (e.g., gas/electric operations, power plant, nuclear) with a minimum of five years as an Ameren operations first line supervisor of union employees.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of business line specific labor contracts preferred. Knowledge of the grievance process preferred. Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts or agreements preferred. Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts or agreements preferred. The Labor Relations Representative works a standard day-shift in an office and/or field environment. Role may require significant travel and/or alternate work schedule based on business needs.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$88,500.00 - $172,200.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
