The Regulated Renewables Operations Center (RROC) is a 24/7/365 control room responsible for monitoringandcontrolling76Hydrogenerators(3,680MW)at27HydroStations and a growing fleet of more than 1,900 MW Regulated Solar/Storage Assets across all jurisdictions. In addition, RROC operators have the responsibility to managetheReservoirsinN.C.&S.C. which has direct impacts on public safety. RROC operators ensure compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) licenses and NERC requirements and are anessentialpartnerwiththeECCtomeetcustomerdemandsinasafereliable manner. In addition to monitoring and controlling generation assets, RROC Operators are responsible for the efficient and safe operation and monitoring of water control systems, including dams, reservoirs, and related infrastructure to adjust water flow and levels according to operational guidelines and regulations, weather conditions, and water demand. This role ensures the proper distribution and management of water resources throughout the system, maintains structural integrity, and ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations. TheRROCOperatorhastheindependentdecision-makingauthoritytodirect appropriate real time actions to ensure stable and reliable operations to meet load demand and balance water resources on a 24x7 basis during both normal and emergency conditions. This authorityincludesactionsuptoandincludingactivationofthedamsafetyemergencyactionplanleadingto public evacuations. RROC Operatorprovides continuous monitoring and control of all of Duke Energy's Regulated Renewable assets. This position is responsible for FERC and NERC compliance while prioritizing public safety, protecting generation and reservoir assets, and supporting reliable power generation to meet customer demand.RROC Operators areresponsiblefor verifyingdaily generationoperatingschedules,complianceanddispatching maintenancepersonnelas needed to respond to emergent conditions. The RROC Operator must have adequate field experience that will serve as the base to build RROC specific knowledge.TheRROCOperatorisexpectedtoowntheirdevelopmentandseekinformationthatwillassistintheir job-related duties.Within the first year, the RROC Operator is expected to have completed all Level 2 JPMs AND successfully passed their RROC Board Evaluation qualifying them to take independent instruction from the Energy Control Center (ECC). The RROC Operator requires oversite until all qualification requirements are successfully completed. Once qualified, the RROC Operator may be placed "in-charge" on shifts without supervision and assist with training of other RROC Operators. SpecificRequirements: * Ability to obtain unescorted NERC access. Basic Qualifications: * Associate degree and 2 years of work-related experience. PreferredQualifications: * Proficientwithcomputersystemsandusingmanysoftwareapplications.
