Creighton University, a premier Jesuit Catholic institution ranked among the nation's top universities, seeks a seasoned Senior Executive Assistant to support the Office of the President. The Senior Executive Assistant works closely with the President in calendar management, travel arrangements, preparation of support documentation for appointments and events and finances.

This position requires frequent engagement with trustees, senior leaders, major donors, and elected officials, demanding a consistently high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and absolute discretion in the handling of sensitive information and complex, high-level requests. The Senior Executive Assistant must be a proactive and adaptable professional who can be trusted to seamlessly support the President's daily operations in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, a positive demeanor, and forward-thinking mindset are essential. The role carries significant responsibility for managing confidential information and serving as a highly visible representative of the Office of the President, necessitating a polished, customer focused approach when interacting with senior leadership and key internal and external partners.

The Senior Executive Assistant serves as a vital resource for the Office of the President, ensuring that leadership priorities are executed efficiently and effectively.

Essential Job Functions



  • Manage and maintain the President's complex calendar with precision and strategic foresight with complete responsibility for scheduling and prioritizing all appointments to protect and maximize the President's time
  • Exercise considerable judgment in managing the President's calendar and travel schedule, including itineraries accommodations and briefing materials.
  • Execute complex travel arrangements, including contingency travel options for each trip
  • Complex presidential schedule requires handling of last-minute adjustments of scheduling and/or travel itineraries with discretion to enable maximum use of the President's time and enabling the President to meet all commitments
  • Prepare the President for all meetings and engagements by organizing briefing files, agendas, background materials, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate correspondence and communications on behalf of the President, with an emphasis on writing proficiency in composing, drafting, and preparing polished and professional executive-level materials for review and signature
  • Plan and execute complex local, national, and international travel arrangements, including itineraries, accommodations, and meeting materials
  • Provide support for events hosted by the President, including logistics, agenda development, preparation of confidential materials, and post-event follow-up
  • Manage financial transactions for the Office of the President, including procurement card reconciliation, expense reports, and budget monitoring
  • Interact with the Board of Trustees, senior leadership, major donors, elected officials, and community partners with the highest level of professionalism and poise
  • Provide administrative support to other Office of the President staff as needed, particularly on confidential and time-sensitive matters



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible executive-level administrative support experience; experience supporting a president, CEO, or C-suite executive strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential with advanced writing proficiency necessary to compose and prepare executive-level correspondence and the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior internal leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience within higher education administration preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities, use initiative, and make substantive decisions quickly.
  • Experience in maintaining, monitoring, and reconciling financial records and accounts is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality, with a high level of discretion and sound judgement required.
