The Senior Configuration Management Specialist represents the third tier within the Configuration Management (CM) classification hierarchy. Beyond the responsibilities outlined for CM I and CM II levels, employees manage specialized CM tasks independently, requiring minimal oversight. Individuals are proficient in applying concepts and procedures, efficiently identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions. They possess extensive knowledge of civil, electrical, digital, and mechanical configuration practices and standards, and exhibit full competency in CM methodologies. As Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in one or more CM domains-such as Equipment Database, Drawings, Engineering Change (EC) Reviews, and Nuclear Asset Suite (NAS) Modules-they maintain a comprehensive understanding of EC programmatic interfaces to ensure accurate information updates. Their expertise includes thorough familiarity with CM roles supporting external organizations to provide leadership across the site in designated CM areas.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare engineering change drawings across various disciplines. Provide technical expertise and guidance to Design Engineering, Major Projects, Engineers of Choice, etc. in the resolution of Configuration Management issues including training and assisting/mentoring fleet and site personnel.
  • Knowledge of CM procedures and processes and how these interface with other site/fleet procedures.
  • Develop, review, and implement Configuration Management related Engineering Changes based on pre-authorized design and configuration changes. This includes identifying the changes to CM information such as drawings, vendor manuals, EDB, etc., and the impact to other organizations to ensure the CM EC is fully reconciled.
  • Perform CM Reviews of Engineering Changes that are complex and represent CM at EC Review meetings for the disposition of CM EC review comments.
  • Support plant walk-downs to confirm proper configuration management and document reconciliation to the physical plant.
  • Complete non-routine CM projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or Associate's degree in Engineering with 4 years related work experience
  • In lieu of Associate's degree(s) AND 4 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 year(s) related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MicroStation and/or Auto-CAD experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Nuclear Asset Suite (NAS) Modules or similar application with specific emphasis on Equipment Data, Engineering Change, Work Management, Supply Chain, Action Tracking, and Controlled Document modules.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of Fusion or similar application to retrieve controlled plant documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of CM and Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior drafting/design experience.
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of power plant systems.
  • Familiarity with basic nuclear standards and terminology.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Corrective Action Program with the ability to process complex Corrective Actions and perform Cause Evaluations.

Mobility Classification

Initially candidate will be onsite, Hybrid within the first 3 months.

Specific Requirements

  • Ability to obtain nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts during refueling outages to support emergent work.
  • May be required to participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), which would involve callouts with a specified response time and inclusion in on-duty rotation.
  • Work is conducted in both office and plant environments.
