Description
Intermediate level Scenario/Test Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control systems by providing test case development and simulation expertise at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTC). Will provide various tasks to support test (development for automated testing).
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be a US Citizen, or a 3-yr Permanent Resident.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust
- The candidate will be expected to work onsite at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ 5 days a week
- Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues
- Maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems
- Resolving complex hardware and software problems
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Monitor and test system performance
- Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- Proficiency in programming languages (C++, Java, JavaScript and SQL)
- Strong understanding of core JavaScript concepts and expertise in TypeScript
- Expertise in building user interfaces with HTML and styling with CSS, including responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience consuming and interacting with RESTful APIs for data exchange with backend services.
- Proficiency with Git or other version control systems for collaborative development.
- Familiarity with JavaScript build tools like npm, webpack, or similar tools for managing dependencies and optimizing applications.
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift's architecture and deployment mechanism
- Proficiency in Linux, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting.
- Experience working in an Agile environment with iterative development and collaboration.
- Experience developing technical documentation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related degree.
- Strong System Engineering skills - problem determination, authoring white papers, system performance, system security
- 3-5 years of experience working on NAS systems within the FAA
