In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering ofLam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutionsare helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.

The Semi Mechatronics Products (SMP) group produces critical mechatronics and Equipment Intelligence products that support Lam's advanced semiconductor solutions. Located in Fremont, CA, SMP accelerates new product introductions, drives manufacturing innovation, and supports global production transfers. As part of Global Product Engineering's Mechatronics group, SMP delivers quality, cost efficiency, and scalable growth through operational excellence.

The impact you'll make

As General Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in transforming early stage mechatronics designs into production ready solutions that can scale globally. Through disciplined execution, strong cross functional collaboration, and a focus on continuous improvement, you will enable faster time to volume, improved cost structure, and world class quality-directly supporting Lam's growth and technology leadership.

What you'll do

Business & Operational Leadership

  • Own overall business and operational performance, including financial results, cost control, and delivery commitments
  • Translate product roadmaps and demand signals into executable operating plans, capacity strategies, and investment priorities
  • Balance agility required for NPI with the discipline needed for sustainable, repeatable manufacturing performance

NPI, Product Maturity & Manufacturing Transfer

  • Lead the manufacturing maturation of complex mechatronics products from early builds through high volume production readiness
  • Drive designformanufa
  • cturing, test, and assembly in close partnership with engineering teams
  • Establish clear readiness criteria and execute structured transitions to external manufacturing partners, ensuring process stability, documentation completeness, and quality performance
  • Accelerate speed to scalable manufacturing while protecting critical IP and knowhow
Who we're looking for
  • Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Materials Integration

    • Oversee endtoend factory operations, including assembly, integration, test, and enabling manufacturing capabilities
    • Align supply chain, procurement, and inventory strategies with evolving NPI and ramp requirements
    • Balance cost, risk, and service levels through strong systems discipline and supplier engagement
    • Ensure material availability and operational readiness to support ontime delivery and production continuity
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement

    • Own product and manufacturing quality outcomes across NPI and early production phases
    • Drive robust problemsolving, corrective action, and buildtobuild learning
    • Establish quality and process discipline that enables reliable internal execution and successful external transfer

    Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Build and lead a highperforming, crossfunctional leadership team across operations, supply chain, engineering, and quality
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Develop scalable organizational capabilities that support longterm product and manufacturing strategy
Preferred qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or NPI environments
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience managing financial performance, cost, and operational tradeoffs
  • Hands-on experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and transitioning products into highvolume manufacturing (HVM)
  • Ability to lead crossfunctional teams across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or advanced engineering degree)
  • Experience operating in both NPI/pilot and highvolume manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of precision machining or complex part manufacturing within a mechatronics system context
  • Background in semiconductor equipment, robotics, automation, or capital equipment manufacturing
  • Experience transferring products to contract manufacturers or global supply partners

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $175,000.00 -$389,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
