Global Business Director, Ceramic Powders

In this role you will lead the strategic, commercial, and operational direction for the ceramic boron nitride and spherical alumina powders portfolio, ensuring strong growth across key markets and applications. This role defines global product strategy, drives pricing and margin performance, and partners closely with R&D to shape the technology roadmap. It oversees regional sales execution, key account development, and competitive positioning to strengthen market leadership. The director also aligns supply chain, manufacturing, and marketing resources to deliver reliable product performance and a differentiated customer experience on a global scale

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute global product strategy for ceramic boron nitride and spherical alumina powders, delivering year-over-year revenue growth targets (e.g., 8-12%) and expanded share in priority market segments.

  • Own global pricing and margin performance, establishing value-based pricing frameworks and achieving annual gross margin improvement through disciplined commercial management.

  • Drive the technology and innovation roadmap in partnership with R&D, ensuring at least two new or enhanced product introductions per year aligned with customer needs and long-term market trends.

  • Lead global sales execution and key account strategy, increasing engagement with top-tier customers and achieving double-digit growth in strategic accounts.

  • Strengthen competitive positioning by monitoring global market dynamics and implementing action plans that enable measurable differentiation versus top competitors in performance, service, and cost-to-serve.

  • Align manufacturing and supply chain capabilities with commercial priorities to ensure on-time delivery, stable product quality, and operational readiness for portfolio growth.

  • Develop and lead global business planning, including annual budgets, long-range forecasts, and scenario analyses, delivering accurate forecasts and clear strategic options for executive review.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.

  • 10+ years of commercial, product management, or business leadership experience in advanced materials, chemicals, or specialty minerals.

  • Proven track record driving global revenue growth, pricing strategy, and margin improvement in a technical B2B environment.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with R&D and operations to commercialize new products or technologies.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L ownership.

  • Experience leading crossfunctional and international teams with clear results in strategic execution.

  • Ability to travel globally to support customers, manufacturing sites, and regional commercial teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.

  • Direct experience in ceramic materials, thermal management materials, boron nitride, alumina powders, or adjacent engineered materials markets.

  • History of achieving measurable commercial outcomes-e.g., year-over-year revenue growth, double-digit key account expansion, or margin enhancement in specialty materials.

  • Experience managing global product portfolios >$50M in annual revenue.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or industrial markets where thermal management materials play a critical role.

  • Demonstrated success building multi-year product roadmaps and leading cross-functional innovation programs.

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, including competitive intelligence, segmentation, and market modeling.

Our Global Business Director will earn a variable compensation including annual base salary and annual bonus. Base salary range takes into consideration experience, education, and training. Not to mention all the amazing benefits available for employee selection as well.
