Genesis10 is currently seeking a Security Configuration Baseline Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Las Colinas, TX, Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

The Security Configuration Baseline Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and operationalizing security configuration baselines across enterprise technology platforms. This role sits at the intersection of GRC, cloud security architecture, and automation, translating policy requirements and industry standards into codified, enforceable, and auditable security baselines. The position focuses on baseline engineering with accountability for converting standards, policies, and risk requirements into baseline as code, enabling preventative controls, drift detection, and enterprise-scale governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security Analysis
  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale or longer-term Information Security Analysis challenges
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Design, engineer, and operationalize security configuration baselines across enterprise technology platforms
  • Translate policy requirements and industry standards into codified, enforceable, and auditable security baselines
  • Convert standards, policies, and risk requirements into baseline as code, enabling preventative controls and drift detection

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security Analysis, cloud security, platform security, or security engineering
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
  • 3+ years of experience with Risk and Control
  • 2-4+ years of experience with Python scripting
  • Hands-on experience with security configuration baselines or hardening standards
  • Strong working knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Policy as Code or guardrail frameworks
  • Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience mapping security controls to industry standards (CIS, NIST, ISO)
  • Ability to produce clear, structured, audit-ready documentation
  • Experience operating in large, regulated enterprise environments

Desired skills:

  • Experience with a baseline as code program
  • Familiarity with cloud organization level controls (management groups, folders, org policies)
  • Experience with CI/CD integration of security controls
  • Exposure to risk management, audit response, or regulatory examinations
  • Background in automating governance processes (exception workflows, control validation, reporting)
  • Engineering mindset with strong governance discipline
  • Comfortable translating ambiguity into explicit, machine-enforceable requirements
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on traceability and defensibility
  • Strong written communication skills for executive, audit, and technical audiences
  • Able to work independently while collaborating across multiple enterprise teams

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
