    Position Summary:

    Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Regulatory FDA Attorney to join our team to help lead and strengthen our compliance strategy across the organization. In this role, you will monitor evolving federal, state, and local regulations, assess how they apply to our business, and advise leaders on practical steps to maintain compliance and reduce risk. You will play a key role in guiding the organization through complex regulatory requirements, with a particular focus on environmental, FDA, and NRC-related matters.

    JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



    • Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and evaluate how they apply across Shimadzu operations, including headquarters, regional offices, and laboratory environments
    • Track and interpret updates from agencies such as OSHA, EPA, FDA, DOJ, DOT, and NRC
    • Assess regulatory risk and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions to support ongoing compliance
    • Partner with leaders across departments to implement compliance actions and improve internal processes
    • Review internal activities and reporting to identify potential compliance concerns before they become larger issues
    • Help identify regulatory knowledge gaps across the organization and support the development of effective training solutions
    • Measure the effectiveness of training through follow-up assessments, surveys, and other feedback tools
    • Provide regular feedback and insight to senior leadership, including the General Counsel, on compliance trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
    • Stay current on changing regulatory expectations and industry developments through active participation in relevant external forums and associations
    • Travel as needed to support business operations and compliance initiatives



    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:



    • A Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school
    • At least 4 years of legal experience
    • At least 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance
    • Strong knowledge of regulations related to FDA, EPA, OSHA, NRC, DOJ, and applicable state and local requirements
    • Experience researching, interpreting, and summarizing laws, regulations, statutes, and compliance guidance
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risk, identify solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
    • The ability to work effectively with stakeholders across functions, disciplines, and levels of the organization



    Compensation & Benefits:

    This full-time, exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays (Residents of California and Puerto Rico will receive state-mandated sick leave instead of personal days). After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.

    The starting salary range for this role is $135,000 to $140,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
