Summary:

TheManager of Development-LincolnHospitalprovides strategic leadership and execution of fundraising efforts for theLincolnHospitalCommunities(LHC)withinMaineHealth. This roleis responsible forcultivating a culture of philanthropy by building strong relationships with community members, physicians, employees, and prospective major gift donors. TheMangeroversees all aspects of major gift fundraisingrelated to the LHCsand donor engagement to supportMaineHealth'smission and strategic goals.

TheManagerplays a critical role in coordinating withCentralizedServices to develop and implement customized strategies to engage donors and prospects. This includes annual appeals, proposal development, estate and plannedgivingstrategies, donor stewardship, pool management, and targeted communications. TheManageris accountable for meeting major gift goals, stewarding donor relationships, and managing a portfolio of key donors and prospects.Supervises philanthropy staff as assigned.

This position is based in the Coastal Region.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. License/Certification: N/A.
  3. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience, either professional or voluntary, raising funds for a non-profit organization.
  4. Proven experience in the design and management of development programs.
  5. A track record of developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, volunteers, staff and donors; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Familiarity with corporate, and foundation fund-raising resources.
  7. The ability to give and take direction and the ability to listen.
  8. Familiarity with assistive technology and methods for production of documents in alternate formats is preferred.
  9. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
  10. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  11. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
