YMCA of the North Shore

The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our members and community.

As a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y relies on its facilities team to keep operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll complete maintenance tasks, respond to work orders, and support preventative maintenance efforts across the facility.


What You'll Do

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and light construction
  • Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
  • Maintain outdoor grounds (landscaping, snow removal, general upkeep)
  • Assist with aquatics maintenance, including pool systems and water quality
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Conduct regular facility inspections for safety and cleanliness
  • Track inventory and order maintenance supplies
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors
  • Partner with facility leadership to support daily operations

Qualifications
Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of facilities or maintenance experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance standards
  • Preferred: OSHA certification and/or trade licenses
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks


Work Environment

  • Active, hands-on role requiring lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Work indoors and outdoors across multi-level facilities
  • Requires the ability to respond to urgent or emergencies
