Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, ability to lead people and obtain results through others

Ability to anticipate situations and plan over short and long terms

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

Ability to build relationships and motivate

Problem analysis skills and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and a functional level

Knowledge of all aspects of local news programming, especially social media

Ability to apply an understanding of the evolving digital media landscape Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise written analysis and reports

Ability to promote product within the company and throughout the area Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Ability to analyze and interpret data

Ability to effectively present information to management

Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations

Demonstrated business planning and forecasting skills

Demonstrated analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills

Ability to analyze data and develop and present data driven reports

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Journalism experience - 6-7

Management experience - 3+

Affiliate television station or cable station experience

Working Conditions

Works primarily inside a climate controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion

Works in an open newsroom setting with a semi-noisy environment

Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Physical Requirements

May be required to lift up to 5 pounds

The base pay for this position generally is between $107,900.00 and $229,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
