The Role:

Our growing site in Colorado Springs is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our NPI team, specialized in molding/injection molding processes.

The new hire in this role will play a crucial part in successfully transitioning new, tight-tolerance products from design to high-volume manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Scientific Injection Molding, with a focus on producing components for the semiconductor industry. They will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for scientific injection molding supporting the APS division - Microenvironments Products include cleanroom product platforms. This role bridges NPD and Manufacturing execution, ensuring Molding processes are scientifically defined, transferable and capable of meeting stringent Semiconductor quality include VOC and cleanliness requirements.

The position partners closely with NPD / R&D, Materials Engineering, Tool Design, and Operations to enable robust launches and stable high volume production using data driven, Scientific Injection Molding methodologies.

The APS division focuses on providing the purity necessary to create advanced materials by integrated device makers (IDMs), original equipment makers (OEMs), and wafer growers in the semiconductor industry. Our customers rely on us for high quality, consistent, reliable, and clean products to produce high-tech devices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop Robust Scientific Injection Molding process for the cutting-edge Microenvironments products from engineering development to high volume manufacturing at the Colorado Springs facilities.

  • Be a technical lead for the Injection Molding process and NPI efforts for Microenvironments products at COS.

  • Define molding strategies using scientific molding principles of 6 steps including melt behavior, cavity pressure/ RJG system, resin characterization, etc.

  • Drive Mold / Molding trials and production ramp up

  • Establish critical process parameters and quality attributes to ensure dimensional, visual, and functional robustness ensuring the smooth transition for HVM meeting the targeted KPI's include quality, cost and efficiency.

  • Drive Process Capability improvements Cp/ CpK, first pass yields and scrap reductions.

  • Collaborate with NPD / R&D and PM / BU to define target performance requirements (success criteria) for new products.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation including work instructions, SOPs, and process records; ensure systems and controls are in place for full-scale production.

  • Train operators and technicians on new processes and equipment, ensuring readiness for scale-up.

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (including DMAIC) to improve yield, reduce variation, and increase capacity using a strong statistical foundation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to new products, tooling, and process by creative problem-solving techniques.

  • Participate in design and mold reviews, ensuring compliance with Entegris global and site-specific standards.

  • Conduct manufacturing readiness assessments to identify gaps and track progress against IRD/Mfg. metrics.

WHAT WE SEEK

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of Injection Molding experience in Manufacturing within the Semiconductor industry and/or experience in plastic part processing and assembly in a tech or medical field.

  • Certifications: MM2 / MM3 RJG, Black Belt or Green Belt in Six Sigma/Lean Sigma is highly preferred.

  • Hands-on expertise in Scientific injection molding methodologyand injection molding design fundamentals

  • Experience with Statistical tools (Minitab, JMP) SPC, DOE, FMEA and Control plans, as well as Moldflow or equivalent simulation tools highly preferred

  • Basic knowledge of assembly processes for clean, tight-tolerance products and electro-mechanical systems. (added advantage)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Familiarity with metrology and various measurement techniques.

  • Strong desire to learn and adopt new technology, new products, and being a subject matter expert in Injection Molding.

  • Willingness to travel internationally to other Entegris facilities, vendors, suppliers, and customers as needed.

  • A proactive, self-motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a strong contributor to a cross-functional development team.

  • Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities quickly based on business needs

  • Compensation: $95,000-$120,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
