Description
DoubleTree Hotel and Suites by the Galleria is looking for an experienced hands on Executive Chef with strong leadership skills and high creative abilities for menu design. Required Skills & Abilities: -At least five (5) years preferred -Flexible to work AM and PM shifts, mid-shifts, weekends and holidays -Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written -Must be able to stand/walk for at least eight (8) hours and lift/carry at least 25-30 pounds -Current Food Handler Certification Required Job Description: -Manage all aspects of kitchen and culinary operations including food and labor cost, inventory, sanitization, ordering, proper handling/storage of all food items according to required standard. -Interview, hire, provide hands on training for new hires and implement development plans for staff. -Create new menu items, test and write recipes to attract desired customer market. -Establish and achieve profit objectives and desired standards of quality food, cleanliness, and ensure all culinary staff consistently follows recipes and yield guidelines with high food quality standards. -Assist catering sales management with developing special menus for functions and meet with clients as requested. -Regularly review and evaluate the degree of food quality for outlets and banquets. Create new menu ideas/recipes whenever declining or constant sales imply dissatisfaction by customers, customer market or change in the competitive surroundings. Benefits:
