Job Description

We are looking for a Materials Engineer to be part of the Chemistry & Materials Engineering group. You will support the selection, modification, improvement, and troubleshooting of different fabrication processes used in industrial products, including metal and polymer. You will become a technical subject matter expert, defining critical requirements for new processes and collaborating with engineers and scientists to evaluate material properties and ensure process integrity. You will be a liaison between our manufacturing plants and the analytical lab to use lab results to aid production.

You will report to our Senior Manager, Chemistry & Materials and Product Performance Testing.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Be a materials technical contact for our processes.
  • Define, maintain and create material and process specifications.
  • Analyze materials in a laboratory setting to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
  • Partner with internal teams, including Sourcing, Supplier Quality and Manufacturing, and Development Engineers to evaluate material properties, specify materials or processes, help improve processes, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years experience in an industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or laboratory environment.
  • Experience with common metal forming, heat treating, and joining processes, including plating and coating technologies.
  • Understand critical-to-quality process parameters.
  • Experience with the instruments used in qualification testing and their resulting data; for example: SEM, XRF, microscopy, environmental and mechanical testing.
