Position Summary: Responsible for the safe, timely, courteous, and competent transportation of patients and specimens throughout the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, primarily via wheelchair or stretcher. Receives assignments for specific trips and associated tasks from Supervisor and/or EPIC/Rover Applications. Retrieves transport equipment throughout the campus area, as directed. Competencies: A. Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or a G.E.D. Certificate. B. Knowledge: Knowledge of customer service core competencies for the ability to deal directly with patients, their families, staff and JHM customers. Work constantly involves contact with patients and/or visitors which requires courtesy and caring behaviors. C. Skills: Work requires the skills to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters. Ability to navigate directionally. Ability to read and write information regarding patient assignments and to confirm patient identification. Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures. Ability to work independently. Ability to operate a handheld work iPhone device. D. Required Licensure, Certification American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR Certification. No registration or licensure required. E. Work Experience: Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting. F. Machines, Tools, Equipment: Training in use of equipment used to transport patients is desired but not required. Salary Range: Minimum 17.53/hour - Maximum 0.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
