Able to perform high quality echocardiographic studies integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data for diagnostic purposes. A level II sonographer must be specialized in echocardiography with a valid registry and currently practicing independently according to departmental and IAC protocol. Must be proficient in echo exams to include but not limited to imaging enhancement agents, saline bubble, portable, stress echo studies, strain imaging, and assists with transesophageal echocardiographic procedures. Document completely and accurately patient data and echo exam information utilizing current information management system and follows appropriate billing for procedures. Be well organized and able to function independently. Assist in the orientation and training of all levels of trainees and students assigned to the Echocardiography Laboratory. Must be patient orientated and show critical thinking skills with appropriate communication. Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment.

Requirements

Education:Graduated from an accredited cardiovascular technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.

Experience:Minimum of 2 years experience in cardiac ultrasound or dual registered, proficient in echo and vascular.

Certification:BLS (American Heart Association/Basic Life Support) required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Echocardiography (RCS) required.

License:N/A

Other:Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and email.
