UVa Housing & Residence Life (HRL) is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) for a student facing role within Residence Life to help meet current challenges, achieve our strategic initiatives, and bring the University's 2030 plan to fruition. Working within a newly expanded staffing plan, the Residence Life Coordinator will lead, guide, and coach Senior Residents (SRs) who will in turn support our Resident Advisor (RAs). The RLC position is directly supervised by an assistant dean. Specific living and learning programs include language immersion houses, three residential colleges, a comprehensive first-year experience, and a newly created second-year and transfer student experience. Residential environments encompass a diverse array of building styles including traditional residence halls, apartment complexes, townhouses, and single-family homes. Job Description Residence Life Coordinators have responsibilities in programmatic, student support, and incident response support areas:
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience required, a Master's degree or equivalent in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or other related field is preferred. Relevant student experience may be considered. A demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in promoting respect, and appreciation for diversity and pluralism among students and staff. About the Position The position is live-off, but there may be housing available on Grounds for faculty & staff at the University. The anticipated hiring range is $50,000-$60,000/annually commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is an exempt-level position with UVa benefits. The Housing & Residence Life office business hours are Mon-Fri: 8am-5pm. To support program needs, evening and weekend work may be required on occasions. Physical Demands Will require frequent traveling, standing, and climbing stairs to access buildings and facilities of the residential colleges. The position will require occasional light lifting, bending, and stooping, in addition to the use of desktop computers in an office environment.
