The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a part-time, temporary Behavioral Health Consultant to assist with the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental illness and severe challenging behaviors. Responsibilities include: * Conducting behavioral assessments under the guidance of the clinical director. * Implementing behavior treatment on the unit. * Managing patient information, which may include writing daily progress notes for patients' charts and creating/updating patient graphs. * Identifying behavior goals for hospitalization and reviewing assessment data with psychologist as necessary. * May develop additional assessment and treatment plans. * Coordinates behavior programming with interdisciplinary team members. * Assures quality in program delivery through collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. * Communicates with internal and external stakeholders regarding patient goals, progress, * behavior recommendations, and placement. * Assists in discharge planning. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education or related field is required. Master's degree preferred. * more years of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual * disabilities and severe challenging behaviors. * Excellent verbal communication skills; including demonstrated positive interpersonal * skills and experience leading and/or participating as a member of work teams and * groups. * Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience using * email, spreadsheets and word processing programs. Desirable Qualifications * Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis and treatment with individuals with * developmental disabilities and/or challenging behavior. * Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
