DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees the development, organization, and maintenance of inmate medical records at SCI Waymart. The work supports accurate documentation, compliance with policies, and effective health care operations. As a Medical Records Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Supervision: Oversee work plans, set unit goals, and provide guidance to medical records staff
- Record Management: Organize and maintain integrated medical records in accordance with standards and policies
- Record Processing: File, issue, and prepare records for transfers, parole cases, and legal proceedings
- Quality Review: Examine records for accuracy and return incomplete documentation to staff for correction
- Data Reporting: Prepare statistical reports on record activity and health service use

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
Post Employment Requirement:
- Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
