The Procurement and Supply Chain Vice President is responsible for the development of a supply chain plan for ammonia products, from raw materials through deliveries of finished products to customers, that provides the highest reliability and lowest total system cost. It is also responsible for the development of clean ammonia offering and analysis for strategic positioning in future markets and fleet management. The position measures performance against the plan and adapts the plan to changing factors including changes to customer base, changes to raw material availability and cost as well as operational constraints such as driver and vehicle availability.

This position requires a thorough understanding of customer demand including volumes, specifications, locations, volatility and seasonality in order that a supply chain plan may be developed and executed to ensure uninterrupted customer service. It also requires a deep understanding of product supply options available from company facilities and other sources as well as an understanding of transportation options (including company and carrier trucking and rail) to meet this demand.

This position works closely with the Operations organization and the Sales organization to ensure that the Supply Chain Plan is well understood and agreed. It collaborates closely with the Operations organization to monitor execution of the supply chain plan, identification of factors that impede performance and corrective actions to address these.

OUTCOMES

  • Communicates supply chain plan for ammonia products to ASP facilities and customers at lowest total network cost considering cost of sourcing, processing and distribution.

  • Operations organization effectively executes supply chain plan achieving 100% supply availability of ammonia products to ASP facilities and customers.

  • Sales organization prices business effectively based on accurate costs communicated by the Procurement and Supply Chain Vice President.

  • Understands clean ammonia initiatives, government regulations, costs, availability and sets strategy and executes on strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute the supply chain plan for ammonia and related products to achieve the lowest total network cost, spanning sourcing, processing, and distribution.

  • Manage all aspects of the company fleet, including setting driver staffing targets, evaluating transportation modes (rail, trucking), and overseeing equipment purchases and utilization.

  • Support financial planning requirements (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) and conduct analytics for optimal forecasting and fleet management.

  • Ensure cross-functional alignment by communicating plans and cost positions to Operations and Sales to guide pricing decisions and execution.

  • Lead strategic initiatives for clean ammonia, including contract negotiation, influencing industry policy, and tracking customer initiatives to reduce emissions.

  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor supplier costs, and identify/mitigate key supply risk areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, business or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industrial experience (supply chain / logistics / operations/ sales).

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of bulk chemical distribution and related cost analysis (i.e. payload, cost per mile, miles per trip, utilization, etc.).

  • Advanced computer skills, including an understanding of Purchasing, Inventory and Data Warehouse systems.

  • Excellent quantitative / analytical skills, including scenario / what-if modeling using spreadsheets and/or linear optimization tools

  • A willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done

  • Strong communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating

  • Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate successfully

  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks/projects in parallel.

  • Availability to travel up to 40%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA.

  • SAP experience.
