Description

This position executes academic programs for the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) Program under the supervision of the Program Director of the CRSS program. This individual will meet regularly with the administration team to ensure development of educational programs that meet the needs of CRSS and SIU SOM. Incumbent ensure human resource development, program management, and program evaluation components are fulfilled for each program. Multitasking, process management and ability to meet deadlines are crucial

Administration:

  1. Serves as the program lead for the OTTAC Certified Recovery Support Specialist Program.
    1. Attends and participates in medical school meetings, SIU Healthcare meetings, and departmental meetings as directed by the Program Director.
  2. Works closely and in cooperation with the Program Director and other leaders of the SIU School of Medicine and SIU HC, regarding operation activities related to the CRSS program, including long-range planning.
  3. Works closely with the Program Director on budgets related to the CRSS Program.
  4. Collects and distributes program operation, HR and budget materials to the CRSS team.
  5. Participated in meetings, trainings and other environmental, health and safety activities as required by SIU School of Medicine.

Project Management:

  1. Serves as a project coordinator for the CRSS Program
  2. Field questions from interested applicants - explain differences in programs; explain application process.
  3. Assist in developing program guidelines
  4. Work with the Marketing and Communications Department to maintain and enhance the program website
  5. Participate in the program participant selection process; maintain documentation on all applicants and selected participants.
  6. Meet with Program Service Specialists (PSS's) and provide feedback to Program Director on issues regarding specific participants or general issues.
  7. Attend online Saturday classes and assist training instructor(s), when required.
  8. Assist in developing ECHO topics and content.
  9. Build relationships with existing and new internship sites; explain responsibilities of being an internship site; process internship agreements between SIUSOM and internship site.
  10. Work collaboratively with PSS's and participants to link participants to internships.
  11. Assist with the Illinois Certification Board (ICB) exam application process.
  12. Assist with preparation of program reports to grantor.
  13. Provide regular reports to the CRSS team on project successes and challenges;
  14. Advise the CRSS team on any program updates or changes that need to be made during the program;
  15. Support the CRSS staff recruitment process through the Department of Human Resources;
  16. Manage internal contracting process for the CRSS program;
  17. Coordinates the execution of strategic initiatives.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public administration, social services or related field earned within one year of employment.
  2. Two (2) years of experience in community development, event planning, education, training, organizational development, communications, business development or related activities.
  3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training and /or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
