Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Legal Talent Specialist in the Wheeling office.


Responsibilities

Performance Management:

  • Prepare initial drafts of all performance reviews globally for spring, fall and interim review cycles.
  • Flag any concerns, including risk management, to Lawyer Development Associate Director.
  • Monitor all late submitted feedback and incorporate into draft reviews.
  • For feedback collected through interviews, read and translate notes for inclusion in performance reviews.
  • Be an expert in review software.
  • Provide general assistance with review process tasks.
  • Update monthly utilization trackers to ensure accurate, up-to-date, picture of utilization (including upcoming terminations, leaves of absence, secondments, etc.).

Wellness:

  • Compile and analyze hours reports monthly to determine eligibility for firmwide wellness awards. Includes detailed analysis of how leaves of absence, reduced FTEs and late entered time affects monthly hours.
  • Make recommendations to Director of Legal Talent Operations as to the monthly wellness awards.
  • Prepare a payroll report for payment of wellness awards and liaise with payroll as needed.
  • Research and correct wellness award issues.
  • Prepare communications for award recipients monthly.

Other Talent Initiatives / General Support

  • Oversee ramp credit, including applying ramp credit for secondments, reviewing monthly reports to flag any excess hours applied to ramp, and researching and correcting any ramp credit issues.
  • Analyze year-end bonus information to ensure equitable application of ramp, bereavement and jury duty time.
  • Support associate and counsel compensation processes.
  • Work closely with data analytics team members to run and update spreadsheets and compile data to generate and distribute confidential reports relating to associate and of counsel hours, compensation and bonuses
  • Support career associate program.
  • Help update policies and handbook
  • Provide support on surveys and exit interviews.
  • Act as a liaison on attorney hours questions.
  • Become skilled in pulling data from eReports and PeopleSoft .
  • Back-up coverage for EAN/ESN prepared by the Lawyer Development team.
  • Support other talent-related projects as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
