The Opportunity

OurUSGO American Gulf - Oxford Area Team is seeking a Skilled Mechanical Technician to join ourCorinth Compressor Station Team in Corinth, MS.

This role applies mechanical skills and aptitude to operate, repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform planned maintenance and corrective tasks on natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators, air compressors, pumps, valves, boilers, pipelines, filters, scrubbers, etc.

The successful candidate will be able to operate and maintain assigned equipment in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

The regular work schedule for this position will be:

M-F 7:00am - 3:30 pm (OT as required)

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot, test, & maintain auxiliary and HVAC systems.

  • Monitor trend data, (vibration, pressure, temperature), and take appropriate action.

  • Read and interpret drawings & schematics.

  • Perform major maintenance on gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and associated auxiliary equipment.

  • Respond to emergency situations.

  • Perform medium complexity PM and corrective tasks.

  • Perform valve maintenance and repairs

  • Perform line locates on company lines

  • Perform watch and protect on facility crossings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED.

  • Mechanical technical training, apprenticeship program, or equivalent education or experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills.

  • Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, support team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team.

  • Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering, and filing of various forms.

This position requires candidates to:

  • Complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (a record) for review

  • This position will involve travel and overnight stays away from home (estimated up to 50% of work schedule during peak work periods)
