Marketing Specialist

Hours: Full-time

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid or Onsite as applicable)

W2 Contract

Duration: 6 months

Overview

This role is responsible for developing and executing account-specific marketing and activation strategies that drive business growth and improve brand performance metrics. The position partners closely with sales, merchandising, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful consumer engagement and retail execution.

Key Responsibilities




  • Develop and align seasonal marketing calendars across product, retail, and brand initiatives.



  • Execute account marketing plans to drive performance at the point of purchase across key categories and retail locations.



  • Build and deliver activation strategies and roadmaps that support commercial objectives.



  • Drive sell-through, consumer engagement, and market share growth.



  • Measure and report on activation effectiveness, including visual execution and sales performance.



  • Lead consumer activation initiatives across channels and platforms for targeted categories and concepts.



  • Maximize brand presence and share of space within key retail locations.



  • Manage end-to-end activation calendar processes, from planning through in-store implementation.



  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.



  • Analyze product, customer, and consumer insights to inform strategies.



  • Support product customization initiatives and franchise development when applicable.



  • Act as the primary contact for consumer activation initiatives.



  • Partner with global and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with broader strategies.



  • Manage budgets and ensure cost efficiency.



  • Monitor retail environment trends, competitor activity, and distribution strategies.



  • Oversee toolkit execution from briefing to in-store deployment.



  • Conduct reporting to evaluate commercial success and optimize future initiatives.




Required Qualifications




  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in marketing, merchandising, category management, or sales.



  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.



  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions using data and insights.



  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.



  • Experience working in cross-functional and fast-paced environments.



  • Solid business acumen with a global perspective.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.



  • Fluent in English.




The pay for this W-2 position is $35 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
