Exciting Opportunity at MSK! Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Security Guard I at our Monmouth, NJ location and play a vital role in protecting patients, visitors, and staff every day.

As part of our Security team, you will help maintain a secure, safe, and welcoming environment by monitoring building entrances and perimeters, responding to incidents and emergencies, preparing reports, and assisting patients, visitors, and staff when needed. Role Overview:
  • Monitor building entrances, interior spaces, parking areas, and exterior perimeters to maintain safety and access control
  • Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to potential safety or security concerns throughout the facility
  • Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance
  • De-escalate disruptive or challenging situations using sound judgment and professionalism
  • Investigate incidents and complete accurate and detailed written reports
  • Operate surveillance systems, access control systems, and other security-related technology
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and facilities teams to support a safe patient care environment
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and a visible security presence
  • Support emergency preparedness and response procedures as needed
Key Qualifications:
  • Valid New Jersey SORA Certification required
  • Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related public safety or customer-facing role preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including outdoors and during varying weather conditions
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or fast-paced situations
  • Experience handling conflict resolution and de-escalating difficult interactions preferred
  • Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and security best practices
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using security and reporting systems

Pay Range: $24.05 - $36.21 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
