Application Window Open date: May 27, 2026 Next review date: Thursday, Jun 11, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Nov 27, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Sushil lab (Multimodal Medical Artificial Intelligence (M2AI) lab) focuses on combining computational skills in artificial intelligence, deep learning, and foundation models with domain knowledge within electronic health records, while collaborating with clinical experts, to generate insights from real world data, develop actionable AI tools, and evaluate the benefit of these advances for personalized care. We have a specific interest and expertise in developing and validating foundation models like large language models and vision-language models for solving pressing questions in healthcare, such as improving radiology interpretation, enabling speedier diagnosis for rare diseases, modeling cancer trajectory, and personalizing treatment decisions. This research specialist will perform AI research to develop AI computational tools and analyses related to personalized brain tumor care. Specialist responsibilities include data management, implementation and programming of computational tools like deep learning- based vision-language models, and collaboration with other members of the lab and affiliated groups. They will support administrative tasks on the team and work closely with other lab members, participate in lab meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. They will be expected to conduct data analyses and prepare for presentations at lab meeting and journal club. They will also be expected to translate their research into manuscripts submitted to clinical informatics or machine learning venues. Required qualifications: Please apply here.
