Your Job

GCH Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, product leadership, and engineering execution across our platform portfolio: the US Short Code Registry (SCR), Universal Business Identity (UBID), and Rich Business Messaging (RBM). This role is the in-house authority on business requirements, process documentation, and translation of complex business and regulatory needs into clear, actionable engineering work.

The Senior Business Analyst works across all three products, partnering with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, and external partners including CTIA and enterprise customers. They own requirements quality, ensure engineering teams (including our external development partner) are building the right thing, and drive clarity in a business domain where telecom regulation, identity verification, and messaging ecosystem rules create real complexity.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that directly influences what gets built, how it gets validated, and how well GCH's platforms meet both contractual and customer expectations.

What You Will Do

Requirements and Specification Ownership

* Elicit, document, and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories across SCR, UBID, and RBM.

* Translate regulatory, contractual, and customer-driven requirements into clear, testable specifications that engineering and QA can act on.

* Maintain traceability between business requirements, engineering deliverables, and QA acceptance criteria.

* Own the quality bar for requirements artifacts, ensuring ambiguity is resolved before work enters a sprint.

User Story Authoring and Development Lifecycle Support

* Write complete, well-structured user stories directly in Jira, including clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, business context, and references to supporting documentation.

* Ensure every story entering a sprint meets a defined "ready" bar, with enough detail for engineering to estimate and execute without follow-up guesswork.

* Lead and participate in backlog refinement sessions, walking engineers through story details, business intent, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.

* Serve as the on-call requirements owner throughout the development lifecycle, answering questions from engineers in real time as they work through implementation.

* Adjust stories, add clarifications, or break down work mid-sprint when new information surfaces, while protecting scope and timelines.

* Partner with engineering leads to triage requirements ambiguity quickly and reduce blockers caused by unclear specifications.

Process Analysis and Documentation

* Map current-state and future-state business processes across the three platforms, including customer onboarding, verification, billing, provisioning, and reporting workflows.

* Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities, and recommend solutions that balance business, engineering, and operational realities.

* Maintain a single source of truth for platform workflows, state models, and business rules, in Confluence or an equivalent system.

Cross-Product Alignment

* Act as the bridge across SCR, UBID, and RBM, identifying shared concepts, data models, and workflows that benefit from consistent treatment.

* Surface cross-product impacts of proposed changes, so decisions made in one product are understood in the context of the others.

* Support entity resolution, identity, and data consistency initiatives that span multiple platforms.

Stakeholder Partnership and Communication

* Partner with Product Management on roadmap definition, discovery work, and prioritization, providing analytical rigor and documentation support.

* Serve as a key interface with Customer Success and Operations to capture real-world customer needs, special cases, and recurring support themes.

* Support executive-level and partner-facing communications (including CTIA) with clear written materials, process diagrams, and analytical summaries.

* Participate in customer-facing conversations as needed to clarify requirements or validate proposed solutions directly with enterprise customers.

Engineering and QA Partnership

* Work closely with engineering leadership and our external development partner to ensure requirements are understood, scoped accurately, and delivered as intended.

* Partner with QA on acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and edge cases to ensure shared understanding of "done."

* Participate in sprint ceremonies (backlog refinement, planning, demos) to keep requirements current and answer questions in real time.

Data, Reporting, and Analysis

* Define reporting and analytics requirements tied to SLAs, operational KPIs, and customer-facing dashboards (including SLA performance reporting for CTIA).

* Perform ad hoc analysis of platform data to support decisions, investigations, and strategic planning.

* Support the team in translating raw platform data into narratives leadership can act on.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* 7+ years of business analysis experience, including 3+ years as a senior or lead BA working on complex SaaS or platform products.

* Demonstrated experience authoring high-quality user stories and requirements artifacts (BRDs, functional specs, acceptance criteria) for engineering consumption.

* Proven ability to write complete, well-thought-out user stories directly in Jira, with the depth and clarity required for engineers to execute without ambiguity.

* Demonstrated experience leading backlog refinement sessions and partnering with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to answer requirements questions and unblock implementation.

* Strong process mapping and documentation skills, with fluency in tools such as Confluence, Lucidchart, Miro, or equivalents.

* Experience working in Agile environments with tools such as Jira, including backlog grooming, refinement, planning, and sprint execution support.

* Proven ability to partner with external development vendors and translate requirements clearly across organizational boundaries.

* Strong analytical skills, including comfort with SQL or similar tools for self-service data exploration.

* Experience operating in B2B or SaaS environments with contractual SLAs and enterprise customers.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce executive-ready materials and facilitate working sessions with mixed technical and non-technical audiences.

What Will Put You Ahead

* Fluency in Spanish is a strong plus, as many standup meetings and working sessions with our development partner are conducted in Spanish.

* Experience in the telecom, messaging, or wireless industry (short codes, A2P/P2P messaging, RCS/RBM, carrier integrations).

* Familiarity with KYC/KYB workflows, identity verification platforms, or business entity data (FEIN, DBAs, multi-brand corporate structures).

* Experience with billing and subscription platforms (Stripe, Chargebee, or comparable).

* Experience working with regulated industry partners or trade associations (CTIA or similar).

* Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable).

* CBAP, PMI-PBA, or comparable business analysis certification.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

* Requirements quality and consistency have measurably improved across SCR, UBID, and RBM, with reduced rework and clearer handoffs to engineering and QA.

* Jira user stories consistently meet a high "ready" bar, with engineering reporting fewer blockers, fewer mid-sprint clarifications, and faster cycle times.

* Refinement sessions are productive, well-prepared, and lead to confident estimates and shared understanding between BA and engineering.

* A single, maintained source of truth exists for business processes, workflows, and rules across all three platforms.

* Cross-product impacts are routinely surfaced and considered before engineering work is scoped, reducing downstream conflicts and surprises.

* The external development partner has clear, reliable requirements artifacts to work from, and engineering leadership reports fewer ambiguity-driven delays.

* Executive and partner-facing materials (including CTIA communications) are produced faster and with higher clarity, with the Senior BA established as a go-to contributor on complex cross-functional topics.
