The Industrial Engineer leads the design, optimization, and performance management of end-to-end manufacturing systems. This role is accountable for delivering measurable improvements in safety, productivity, cost, throughput, quality, and flow efficiency through advanced analytics, Lean methodologies, and cross-functional leadership. Acting as a technical authority, this position drives plant-wide strategies, supports New Product Introduction (NPI), and ensures sustainable operational excellence aligned with key business KPIs. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE:
Lead the design and optimization of manufacturing systems (layouts, workflows, material flow) to improve throughput, capacity utilization, and lead time Drive improvements in safety, OEE, labor productivity, and utilization through data-driven analysis and Lean methodologies Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve flow efficiency, cycle time, and WIP reduction Lead initiatives to improve safety, reduce cost per unit, conversion cost, and overall operational expenses, delivering measurable safety and cost savings Conduct advanced analysis (time studies, capacity modeling, simulations) to optimize system performance and scalability Partner with cross-functional teams to improve quality metrics (FPY, defect rates, scrap reduction) through process optimization Lead and execute continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) initiatives, tracking KPI impact including safety and ergonomics, cost, productivity, and cycle time Develop capacity models and staffing strategies to align demand, production capability, and resource utilization Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring safety and ergonomics, manufacturability, scalability, and KPI alignment, while driving standardization and best practices Establish and standardize engineering best practices, design guidelines, and continuous improvement frameworks
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Systems Engineering, or related field 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or operations optimization Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in dynamic production environments Strong expertise in Lean manufacturing, process improvement, and systems optimization Strong expertise in the use of production simulation software
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification Experience with 3P (Production Preparation Process) Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of SQL Experience with data visualization tools such as Machine Metrics, Power BI or Tableau PMP or equivalent project management certification

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $89,300.00 - $165,800.00
