The Associated Pressseeksa highly organized,proactiveand collaborative Executive Assistant to support the Senior Vice President & Executive Editor while partnering closely with other key leaders across News.

Based in our New York headquarters, the Executive Assistant will serve as a trusted partner to newsroom leadership, managing complex schedules and priorities, coordinating meetings and travel, supporting special projects and facilitating coordination across teams and time zones. This role follows a hybrid work schedule with regular in-office collaboration with newsroom leadership. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality and anticipate needs in a dynamic 24/7 news operation.We are looking for someone who is solutions-oriented, detail-focused and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and discretion.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Executive Editor, you will:



  • Manage the complex calendar and scheduling priorities for the Senior Vice President & Executive Editor.





  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements,itinerariesand related documentation.





  • Organize and support meetings, gatherings andspecial events, includinglogistics,materialsand follow-up.





  • Prepare presentations,reportsand other administrative materials as needed.





  • Handle confidential editorial, personnel and operational information with discretion and professionalism.





  • Prepare andsubmitexpense reports andassistwith invoice processing.





  • Coordinate across departments and global teams to support newsroom operations and leadership priorities.





  • Support day-to-day administrative operations, including office supply coordination.





  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.



Who you are:




  • 3+ years of experience as an executive assistant or in a comparable administrative support role, including experience supporting senior leaders or executives.





  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.





  • Proven ability toanticipateneeds, solve problems independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities.





  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.





  • Strong judgment,professionalismand ability tomaintainconfidentiality.





  • Excellent written,verbaland interpersonal communication skills.





  • Advancedproficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel,PowerPointand Word.





  • Experience using Zoom, Concur or similar expense-management systems and workplace collaboration tools.





  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends in support of a 24/7 global news operation.





  • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English.





  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.

Salary & Benefits:

Theanticipatedsalary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000, contingent on experience and other job-related factors.

Employees are eligible toparticipate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan and employer-sponsored health insurance plan and are eligible for paid time off and holidaysin accordance withAP policy.
