I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
| Job Description Summary: |
The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health is seeking a Research Associate to focus on occupational safety and health research, with a particular focus on building systems to analyze large data sets about fatal and non-fatal injuries and disseminating the use of these systems. The successful Research Associate will be supervised day-to-day by the Principal Investigator and will build and maintain dashboards that enable users to examine this data. The Research Associate will also perform statistical analyses on these data, and will teach and assist others in utilizing the dashboards to conduct their own analyses
Responsibilities include:
- Design, development, and maintenance of data dashboards
- Conducting data analyses and interpreting results
- Managing research activities and project logistics.
- Organize and lead sessions with stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Master's degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in teams to develop and implement projects.
- Experience translating complex scientific concepts, data, and tools to advance environmental policy is desired.
- General understanding of atmospheric science and/or population-based health studies, such as epidemiology is preferred.
