Summary:

The Communications Specialist shall provide senior-level communications integration and executive messaging support to the OASA (IE&E), Strategic Integration Directorate (SID). This support is focused on enterprise-level synchronization, executive communications architecture, and cross-functional message integration - not routine public affairs or social media execution.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Shall function as the principal integrator between OASA IE&E leadership, Army Communications Outreach Office (ACOO), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) elements and installation stakeholders to ensure unified, strategically aligned messaging across installations, energy, environment, housing and transformation initiatives.
  • The role focuses on strategic coherence and integration, not routine public affairs.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, and digital communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and edit executive-level products (talking points, speeches, correspondence, and press responses).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience support SES Flag/General Officers, or political appointees.
  • Familiarity with DoW/Army public affairs processes and coordination requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and proactively support senior leader communication priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience supporting Senior Government Officials
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communications in a Department of War (DoW) environment
  • Experience coordinating with Public Affairs Offices (PAO), Congressional Affairs, and external stakeholders to align messaging
  • Active Tier-1 or SECRET security clearance
