Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an experienced roadway engineer in any of our Virginia, Maryland and DC office locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a design lead for department of transportation and/or municipal transportation improvement projects
  • Preparing/reviewing designs, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway projects
  • Preparing construction documents including stamping finalized plans for roadway projects
  • Ensuring transportation group and Mead & Hunt policies and procedures are followed
  • Preparing task and contract technical and price proposals
  • Managing project and contracts deliverables, budget and schedules
  • Leading business development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Other civil engineering projects in other locations as needed

Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of industry related experience
  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of hire

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • ORD Experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leading roadway engineering projects
  • Project management
  • Mentoring project staff
  • Business development tasks (client relations, proposal development, etc.)

Salary Range: $135,000 to $179,000 annually - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
