Director, IT-IT Business Management

PURPOSE

The IT department provides end-to-end solutions for the organization including application development & integration, system deployment, user experience and change management, quality assurance and testing, and business and data analytics, and overall project management to help the organization determine and implement the best solutions for its business needs.

The Director, IT-IT Business Management is responsible for leading the enterprise strategy, governance, and operational oversight for IT contracts, vendor relationships, software licensing, and related spend management activities. This role establishes the framework, policies, controls, and performance standards necessary to optimize vendor value, reduce commercial and compliance risk, and support business-aligned technology investments. The Director partners closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and business leaders to drive contract lifecycle discipline, vendor accountability, financial transparency, and continuous improvement across the IT supplier portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES




  • Define and lead the enterprise IT contract and vendor management strategy, including governance standards, operating procedures, performance expectations, and supporting controls.
  • Own the contract lifecycle management framework for IT agreements, including intake, review, negotiation support, renewals, amendments, expirations, and contractual compliance.
  • Partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to negotiate and structure complex technology agreements that balance cost, risk, service quality, and business outcomes.
  • Lead strategic vendor performance management, including business reviews, service-level oversight, issue escalation, remediation planning, and vendor accountability.
  • Provide leadership in budget planning, forecasting, and financial oversight related to IT vendor spend, including OPEX/CAPEX alignment, prepaid expense visibility, and spend transparency.
  • Drive identification and delivery of savings, cost avoidance, service improvements, and measurable value realization across the IT vendor portfolio.
  • Direct enterprise processes for software asset and license governance to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and cost optimization.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting related to IT spend, contract renewals, software licensing, supplier performance, risk, and savings opportunities.
  • Evaluate and implement tools, systems, and process improvements that strengthen contract visibility, workflow efficiency, governance, and decision support.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior IT leadership on vendor strategy, sourcing decisions, contract risk, and market trends.

  • Actively and consistently leads and develops assigned employees, including:


o staff selection;

o training, planning, and directing work;

o conducting performance reviews;

o rewarding and disciplining employees;

o addressing complaints and resolving problems



  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, finance, supply chain, or related field.
  • Equivalent and/or applicable work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, sourcing, or vendor management, including 8+ years in IT contract and vendor management and 5+ years in leadership roles supporting enterprise-wide initiativesDemonstrated experience leading complex contract negotiations, vendor governance processes, and financial oversight for technology spend.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders across IT, Finance, Procurement, and Legal.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing, audit/compliance requirements, and vendor performance management
