This position reports to:

Business Health, Safety & Env Manager

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Specialist plays a vital role in protecting employee wellbeing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures, and conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations. The HSE Specialist works collaboratively with site leadership, operations teams, and employees to create a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. The successful candidate will champion HSE awareness through training and engagement initiatives while ensuring the facility meets or exceeds all applicable local, regional, and corporate safety and environmental standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs and materials

  • Create and implement work instructions and HSE procedures

  • Execute HSE initiatives and drive continuous improvement

  • Support HSE compliance and program activities

  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance safety culture

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma + 1-2 years of progressive HSE experience, OR relevant HSE certification

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver HSE training or develop training materials

  • Willingness to implement changes and drive HSE initiatives

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • BA/BS degree in HSE, Environmental Science, or related field is preferred

  • Formal certifications such as OSHA 30, NEBOSH, or AIHA is preferred

  • Experience with HSE management systems (ISO 45001, etc.)

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time
