Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Join us as a Scientist and put your passion for science to work in our environmental testing laboratory. In this role, you'll conduct hands-on analysis within our laboratories, helping ensure the integrity and quality of environmental data that impacts communities and ecosystems.

What You'll Do

  • Perform, support, and oversee the analysis of air, water, and soil samples using established EPA methodologies for dioxin and PCB analyses.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation to support high-quality analytical testing.
  • Review, interpret, and reduce complex analytical data, ensuring compliance with method requirements, quality control criteria, and laboratory standards.
  • Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain organized and defensible laboratory records.
  • Investigate analytical issues, evaluate instrument performance, and assist with corrective actions to ensure data quality and laboratory efficiency.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain compliance with regulatory, quality assurance, and safety requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining mass spectrometry-based analytical instrumentation in a production, environmental, industrial, academic, or research laboratory setting.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and reducing analytical data generated from mass spectrometry systems.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems, analytical methodologies, and data integrity requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills with a focus on producing accurate, defensible results.
  • Experience with High Resolution GC/High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS) is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates with relevant mass spectrometry experience.
