What to Expect

The Optimusfirmware team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Software Validation Engineer to take ownership of architecting,buildingandmaintainingcommontest infrastructure forall Optimussubsystems. This work will enable the team toship software releases to our growing robot fleet with high confidence.

We are looking for an experienced validation engineer tocreate HIL / SIL validation infrastructure from scratch to continuously test safety critical code changes for robot subsystems. In addition, this role would also involve development of test cases and any tooling required to ease writing tests. This is a unique opportunity to create infrastructure from scratch and own the roadmap for future iterations.

What You'll Do
  • Create and develop automated validation infrastructure (HIL/SIL) to enable reliable, efficient, thorough,accurate, and repeatable tests
  • Develop and executeautomated regression test suitesforsafety critical joint controls firmware
  • Continuously analyze and improve regression test suitecoverage
  • Own the validation release process for customer releases, including test strategy scoping, test execution, and sign off
  • Create and executeboard leveltest plans to expose weaknessesor faults

What You'll Bring
  • 2 - 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded development or test automation
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Excellentproficiencyin Python and C
  • Knowledge of communications protocols: CAN and Ethernet
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with the team
  • Knowledge and experience with automation and build tools is a plus (Jenkins, Docker,SCons)
  • Previousexperience in auto-industry orvalidatinghighly complexand asynchronous embedded systems is a plus
  • Abilityto read and review electronic circuit schematic is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
