Position Summary

Administer and manage aspects of the recreation program for the Department of Athletics. Plan, manage & implement operations of specific intramural offerings and Recreation programming. Interview and hire student-employee in the respective area. Work with facility staff to schedule intramural and club sport usage. Oversee operations of recreational activities and assist when needed for coverage of athletic facilities while events are occurring.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years related experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience providing high levels of customer service and supervising employees. Working knowledge of athletic facility operations.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years Supervisory experience in an athletic facility and experience in athletic facility operations. and

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Current CPR, First Aid, and Automatic External Defibrillator Certifications or ability to obtain certifications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
The ability to coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security. Resolve customer complaints or answer customers' questions regarding policies and procedures. Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff. Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements. Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise. Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved. Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets, or to review administrative procedures and event progress.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
