Pay Range: $21.55 - $36.63
Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Location: Rutland, VT
Purpose/Objective:
During tax season, prioritizes helping Lead Tax Preparer and taking on tax responsibility. Year round provides high level administrative support in the office to Advisors. Takes ownership of client/advisor issues and needs and find solutions with minimal supervision in accordance with established guidelines. Plays an active leadership role in supporting the tax preparation services, while also focusing on client retention. The Tax Assistant must be able to work in a very busy environment and juggle multiple priorities while handling sensitive and confidential client information.
Key Accountabilities:
* Assists in several areas related to tax preparation services. Heavy emphasis on tax preparations with potential for assembly of tax returns, contacting clients, and logging tax payment checks, etc. when needed. 30%
* Provides daily support to office advisors by processing request for funds, account setup, account maintenance, tracking client annual reviews. Acts as a liaison to clients by handling telephone inquiries, setting up appointments with investment advisors, forming strong working relationship with client base. Assists with communication efforts by preparing correspondence, memos, reports, and newsletters in support of BBIS and bank-wide initiatives. Prepares materials for committees, performance reporting and presentations. Provides for maintenance of electronic investment materials and documents. 50%
* Provides support for office compliance duties both for Beacon Bank as well as Commonwealth Financial Services. This includes quarterly self-monitoring, annual internal and external audits and all customer information procedures. Provides support to all areas of the Berkshire Banc Investment Services team as needed including other duties as necessary to ensure customer service excellence and smooth operations of the department. 10%
* Ensures own compliance with all banking and securities laws, rules, regulations and prescribed policies, practices and procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties. 10%
Education:
* Bachelor's degree required, Accounting or Finance
Experience:
* Prior industry experience, a plus
Skills & Knowledge:
* High level administrative skills
* Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
* Learn Commonwealth Financial specific applications
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills
* Ability to compose correspondence with minimal detail
* Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
* Detail oriented; high degree of accuracy
